Seth Godin had an interesting post on meetings yesterday. I know lots of churches that are drowning in meetings. I’m thankful we don’t have nearly as many at First Trinity. It would be interesting to try some of his suggestions. If you lead meetings, you give it a try and let us know how it goes. 🙂
Yup – some great tips. (I especially liked #3, 5, and 7, in that order. :)) I personally think meetings can be great times of energy and creativity, if done right. (Ay, there’s the rub. 🙂 )
Corporate America is ridiculous with meetings!…some really great ideas I’m sharing with my co-workers!
I liked 3 (prep); 4 (no chairs) but I do need a place to write; 6 (timer) someone/thing has to be blamed; need more time – reschedule after more prep; 7 (summary) is good but Ican’t type fast enought to get it out in 10. Can I have 30?
I read that post by Seth, too and loved it. Good meetings are a thing of beauty. Bad ones are torture. Great book: Patrick Lencioni’s “Death by Meeting”. We used in Servant Leadership Class last year.
