Freelancing Redux: Writing

I got an offer to write about incorporating new “tools’” in youth ministry.  The working title they sent along to me is: Are you Afraid of the iPod?: Learning to Use New Tools.  I’m not sure how many items I’ll be focusing on, but one of them will surely be blogs.  Any ideas what else would be good to include?

A post NOT about Addison! Well done! 😉
Um, I would say, IM, texting, you tube…I’ll keep thinking.

Depends on the crowd. If it is a typical traditional church, I would say power-point and screens in worship, or just visual aids in worship.
If it is a generic crowd, I would say mass emails, like we send out to inform, or even a decent website.

the podcasts you post following confirmation instruction and sermons. Are you using Google Docs to collaborate?

The audience is primarily youth people, which means a large gamut when you look at our synod. I’m guessing most are less familiar with technology, hence the need for the article. Ironically, the article will only be published online, so maybe only tech-savvy people will find it.

Visual Arts in Worship is it’s own article in the issue mine will be appearing in. Facebook and media in your ministry are also their own topics. There are a lot of communication options: Mass email, blogs, Twitter, text messaging, IM. It’s a good start. I have until January 23, so keep the ideas coming!
