One of the more interesting things to come from our recent trip to Cincinnati is the tip to “eat the frog” each morning. The “frog” is that one task that you really don’t want to do. Typically it’s a quick task if you do it early in the work cycle, but the longer you wait, the worse it gets. If you don’t eat the frog, the next morning you’ll find that the frog is just a little bit bigger and there’s another frog on your desk.
Starting last Wednesday, I’ve tried to identify the “frog” in my task list for the day and do it before anything else. That includes email, which often seems to dictate the early stages of my schedule. So far, so good. I got my Tidings article done, used our new treadmill and wrote out birthday postcards to our youth for March among other frogs.
Oh man do I have some frogs to eat this week!!!
