With Pastor Chuck out of town in Haiti, I’ve been asked to do the sermon again. We’ll be looking at the topic of “Great Faith.” I often wonder what it would be like to have lived with King David or follow Paul around on his missionary journeys. Such giants of the faith are held up as examples for us, most notably in Hebrews 11. If I’m honest, I know that my faith is not quite on the same level as those giants. In fact, it might not even be in the same zip code.
At Sue’s Four Great Psalms class, we got to look at King David’s slip up with Bathsheba and Paul’s struggles to do good while evil is right there with him. These glimpses of how the giants of the faith struggled are an encouragement to me that God might just be able to use my limited faith for His purpose. But how do we get there? What are the practical steps? Well, as Pastor likes to say, “You’ll just have to come and find out.”
