Free Christmas PowerPoint Backgrounds

Here are some backgrounds we created for Christmas Day this year. Click the pictures to see and download the full collection via Dropbox. There is a blank slide that you can customize with whatever you’d like as well as slides for each of the majors parts in our service. If there’s a slide missing that you’d like to see added, drop me a comment and I’ll see what I can do to get it added in.

These files may be freely distributed under the Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attribution License. Please link people to this blog post when sharing the files.  You may also be interested in the Lessons and Carols or Christmas Eve sets.

If you use them in your church, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!  Thanks to pareeerica for the Christmas Bokeh background texture.

A Boy Named Sue

When Sue is away from worship and I’m filling in for her in some capacity, I like to tell people that I’m playing the role of Sue that day.  The best interactions usually come from Kathy and Kristina in the Kingdom Quest area.

This past weekend I got to do the Children’s Message (idea came from Sue by the way) and a Baptism.  So instead of Sue, I got to charge little Nia to “let her light so shine before men that they might see her good deeds and praise her Father in heaven.”  It’s fun to be up there for baptisms.  I was thinking while I was up there: The next time I’m here will be with Addison.  Pretty awesome to think about.

I was also catching up on some blog reading and found this well-timed graphic release from The Plow.  I’m wondering if it will work for baptism slides at FT.

Dinner Designs

This Thursday, we hit the home stretch for Cornerstone. Because of the way the school/church schedule falls, we end up going like gangbusters up until Christmas, then meet only a few times after that. Our last two classes are on the Lord’s Supper. Here are the backgrounds we’re using for the series:

You may recognize the communion set in the photo. We used it one Sunday at church as part of a weekend reporting on the National Youth Gathering. Sue and I each received a set for serving on the Gathering Planning Team. They were commissioned especially for the Gathering.
